I was referred to Smart Start for help with my 3.5-year-old English Bulldog, Louie, who had become reactive, especially around young kids he used to play with. From the start, David provided thorough information about their training programs and offered exceptional customer service, reassuring me that they could help.
Tony, our trainer, was incredibly knowledgeable and connected with Louie right away. Every interaction with the team, whether for scheduling or questions, has been handled with professionalism and promptness.

Skeptical at first but now a total believer! We have two dogs - a SUPER ENERGETIC chihuahua puppy (Chiqui) and an older STUBBORN AND REACTIVE shih tzu mix (Winston) - both desperately in need of basic obedience and good manners. I have a 10month old Mini golden retriever puppy who is extremely strong and would pull me around on the leash. It was a challenge to walk him properly. He would jump on people and was practically scared of everything.

I came across Smart Start Puppies and wanted to obtain more information about the Service Animal training. I recall speaking with David who stayed on the phone with me for almost an hour patiently answering all of my questions, concerns and provided details on the process and how he trains. I love that he did not rush me off the phone and made time for all of my inquiries. The kind of customer service he exudes is amazing. You can tell by speaking with him, how absolutely passionate he is about what he does. This alone sold me on going forward with the training investment.

He came to my home and gave me a plethora of information and “homework” for me to practice with my puppy and follow through. David provided very clear guidance on how my puppy would be successful. With just his first session I saw an IMMEDIATE change in behavior. Which impressed me completely.

We scheduled the first half of classes on day 1. David is very hands on and communicative wanting me to reach out with any questions or concerns. I was very nervous going into this not knowing how my puppy would react.

We are now half way through training and my puppy is walking beside me, obedient, well behaved and doing incredible. We recently had our first in mall session and he was the most well behaved dog! Brianna and David have been encouraging me and advised he is well ahead of schedule on his training.

I can tell both David and Brianna love what they do. They have both been invaluable to my puppies training. I have nothing but a positive experience with both trainers thus far.

This company is ethical, communicative, trustworthy, professional, and obviously hires dedicated dog lovers who are proficient at their jobs. My puppy loves his trainers, and dogs know! I could not have done this without the support of both David and Brianna.

If you’re serious in investing in your puppy for training please call them! I’m glad I did! I could not be prouder of Taíno!

Let me just start saying that David is amazing! My Pepper, who is a 5 years old miniature Pincher was never trained as a puppy.
She would never listen and only did what she wanted.
It finally reached the point, where she needed a lot of training and discipline.
I contacted “Smart Puppies” and connected with David, to see if he’d be able to offer any help?
After meeting with David, and listening to my concerns, David was able to evaluate Pepper and her behavior... David was able house train her to go outside, listen to commands, stay focused and was able to adjust her eating habits and exercise routine to help her lose weight.
Now I’m able to take her outside with confidence ; she listens to commands and walks right next to me without pulling on the leash, she’s improved 100%!!
I highly recommend David and using “Smart Puppies” with any training needs or behavioral adjustments with any undisciplined dog.

I whole heartedly recommend that you try Smart Start Puppies. My dog Tucker used to constantly jump on furniture and people, be timid outdoors, and always tugged on the leash on walks but David quickly got that fixed! I’m confident to take Tucker anywhere now and that’s all I wanted with my pet!

We want to thank Laura from Smart Start Dog Training for being an incredible trainer for our pup Mushu.
He officially graduated today! We couldn’t be happier with how well he has become thanks to Laura’s training. In about 3+ weeks he learned how to sit and wait, he learned to go potty outside, he also learned to hold its needs until he is let out of his house. He learned pushing a button to let us know when he has to go outside, walking perfectly well behaved on a leash, staying off things he is not supposed to jump on or chew on, and he was even praised many times at the airport and our plane rides for being incredibly well behaved and quiet.(a pilot even got him wings) ?
We will absolutely recommend this company and trainer to everyone who needs some help with their little pup,and their schedules are busy like ours.
We now have a little gentleman pup!
