Wenz was incredible! We came in wanting to correct some of our 2 year old Poodle's leash walking, focus, and some barking issues. We had four sessions total and within the first we saw improvement - she was thorough, attentive to what outcomes we wanted, and was always available for questions and guidance outside of training. We can finally enjoy walks without thinking about pulling or lunging, he doesn't jump on people when they come to our house, and his barking has improved. We're so grateful to have found Wenz, shes a wizard!

I reached out to Back to Basics for help with my 9 month old maltese puppy who knew some basic obedience but was showing increasingly worse leash reactivity to other dogs in the busy area I live in. Jenn was great in helping me build a strong foundation with my dog to help him develop his "off switch" and taught he some super helpful tricks and games to get him into more of a follower mentality. After 5 lessons he is much improved and I have the tools to keep working with him and developing him into a happy and confident pup. We came home with a puppy and pretty clueless on what in the world to do, and after our lessons we have one of the best behaved dogs we could imagine. She is potty trained, doesn't bark or jump on people, sits, shakes, walks nice on leash...just awesome.

More importantly - the format of coming to our house, our setting, and with our family (2 kids) made the difference. We were able to rotate who had 1:1 time with the trainer and our pup, personalize the coaching, and it helped everyone's confidence and practice in ways we'd never get in a group class. It also normed our expectations across the family - which helped tremendously with the puppy.

Wen Tze has been an amazing guide to my husband and I to become better owners/trainers to our pup. Since we have engaged her services, our dog's behavior has improved significantly, and we've even bonded more and built a better relationship with her. 1. She is extremely responsive at any time; we could teach our to her at any time at any day, regardless of whether our pup was in daycare with questions and for any challenges we were facing, and she always gave thoughtful and helpful responses.

2. Her training videos and guidance were thorough and spot-on, and whenever we implemented her tips, we saw an improvement almost immediately. Despite being first-time owners, she was always patient and helpful with us.

3. She was very easy to work with. She gave us great tips on treats, toys, and other tools we could use to help with motivating our puppy and addressing problem behavior and since we did so, the bigger issues have ceased.

Let me start by saying, I have tried FOUR different trainers for my dog. No one has ever helped change his behavior and been willing to work with him. He is 4 years old now, and has struggled with reactivity. That was until we trained with Back to Basics. My dog has possession issues inside the home. He would resource guard HEAVILY, wouldn’t allow anyone to touch in the home, or even say my name. He was very reactive to everything. He would snap at visitors, not allow people on the couch, and really ran the house. If you met him now, you would never believe he had these problems. In only 4 sessions, Trainer Wenz helped us correct all of his behaviors. Everyone who interacts with my dog has noticed his changes. He’s more content in the home and is finally able to just relax. Our entire relationship has changed and I feel so much more relaxed knowing he doesn’t need to be scared and reactive all of the time. Trainer Wenz has changed our lives, and I cannot thank her enough for believing in Bruno and being willing to work with him where he was. Other trainers don’t take the time to understand your relationship with your dog and meet you guys where you’re at, Back to Basics does. I didn’t have to turn our lives upside down to help my dog improve, the changes were manageable and attainable. Trainer Wenz cares about your dogs like they are one of her own. She loves my dog just like I do and was the key to creating a more stable, loving, and relaxed home environment for my baby. Words don’t do enough to say how thankful we are that we didn’t give up after many other failed trainers and put all of our faith in Back to Basics. If you too have struggled with training, I promise you that Back to Basics will not let you down!

Franklin and I are so grateful for Jenn! After just the first training session with her, I saw a huge difference in Franklin. We got him from a shelter, and at ~2 years old he knew no commands. Now after completing 4 sessions with Jenn he knows basic commands, walks nicely on a leash, and him and I have such a strong bond.
