Tried this salon for the first time yesterday. I asked just for a trim to clean up the dead ends- no layers or dramatic cut or anything like that. Really simple. I did not receive a wash with my haircut and rather she just spritzed it with a water bottle. Got home and realized my hair was lopsided and uneven. The right side was noticeably longer. I got a text asking me to rate my experience. Rather than write a bad review, I sent an email to the address on the website and included a photo of my haircut. They were quick to respond and get me back in today to correct it. I went in today with high hopes, but after having three stylists work on "fixing it" it might actually look worse--and there's definitely way more length that has now been cut off than ever should have been taken off for a trim. I'm mortified and now will have to pay another salon for a whole new haircut to get it fixed by a true professional. I would not recommend this salon to anyone.

I went in to last month to have my hair bleached back to my “natural” color. $700 later with the stylist Kali, I was left with horrible patchiness, chemical burns on my ears, and a terrible orange/pink color. I reached out to the manager Megan and she asked me to email pictures and an explanation of what I did not like, which I did. Still have not heard anything back about trying to make this situation better. I will never recommend this salon to anymore or come back. Terrible work and customer service.

I have come here a few times myself and the service for me was nice with Zoe. It is super close to where I live so why I kept going back however the service does not reflect the money you spend. Out of convenience I would come here but I’m sad that i recommended both my mom and co worker to come here and neither of them had good experiences. They were both overcharged for what they received. My mom was pressured into buying products and not told that the hair mask she was offered (while in the chair) would be extra. I can understand someone should assume it however my mom doesn’t normally go places like this to treat herself and had no idea. The stylist should tell clients the cost. My co worker had an even worse experience with not receiving the coloring she asked for. It’s upsetting to refer people here and then have them both come out unhappy. I’ve seen on the Hutto Facebook group that if you ask for a good stylist or hair salon, H Mack is usually not a top choice and people will comment on the price or being unhappy with the service ( look it up). I think depending on the stylist you get it can be good but ultimately the quality does not reflect the high price or actual level of work the stylist can do. My coworker has been telling everyone how unhappy she is but she is too anxious to call, my mom had the same experience with not being happy but not wanting to be rude and being anxious. My mom paid $200 for a haircut, mask and shampoo/conditioner when she went in expecting to pay $50-60. My coworker paid $300 when she was told the starting cost would be $160 and was not informed of anything different while in the chair and i’ll attach pictures because it’s NOT $300 worth (she wanted her roots done). I think if you have anxiety and don’t want to take the chance that you will not get what you want, be pressured into buying products, over charged then go somewhere else or book with a specific stylist don’t let them choose for you. The before pics say before and the pics with no comment are after. I took them right before this post.
Edit: When I went I just got a trim so nothing complicated and why my experience was neutral.

I have serious hair PTSD so I quit going to the salon and did my own color at home. I talked myself into believing my brave and going to see Kali at H Mack. I was so nervous when I went in for my consultation that I almost backed out. She was amazing. She immediately put me at ease and didn’t make me feel bad for even a second. She did color correction and a cut. I have never in my life left a salon happy. It was usually tears and regret. I haven never gone back to a salon a second time. UNTIL KALI!! I am so thankful and thrilled with my hair! If you’re looking for someone who will listen and do what you want, go see her!! She is the best!! The staff is friendly and helpful.

Second visit to this salon. I worked with the same stylist (Nydia) both times and had an amazing experience!
Customer service was great. The salon was super clean, bright and pleasant during both visits. My stylist met with me prior to the second visit as I was requesting not just a simple cut and style but coloring as well.
I have very heavy, thick, long hair and it is a labor intensive process doing anything with it but Nydia was just amazing. My hair looks super cute.
Thank you for gorgeous coloring cut and style job! I will be back.

I have been going to Marissa for just about a year now for cuts, Balayage, and toner. I cannot speak for the salon as a whole or other stylists, but I absolutely love Marissa and she does great work. I started off doing cooler tones, and recently switched to warmer. Whatever I want she does it, and she does it beautifully. My appointments do take about 3 hours, and range in price from $225-$300ish depending on how much bleach we use. Now that i’m doing warmer tones, I got about every 3 months in between appointments and toner. She’s a sweetheart and I’d recommend her to anyone. If she ever leaves, I’ll definitely be following her to her next salon.

I got a haircut from a male stylist, and he finished in just 15 minutes, charging me $67. There was no scalp massage or any additional service—just a basic layered cut. The result wasn’t even that nice. Definitely not going back. -JY

I have been to this salon a few times and am so happy for my cut and color. Kali Beavers has cut, colored and styled my hair over the last year and I love her work. Every time I leave the salon I am so happy with the look and feel of my hair. Kali goes above and beyond to make sure my hair stays healthy and the color will work the best as my hair grows out. Highly reccomend Kali and her services.
