Our dachshund puppy, Scoot, is a proud alum of Mariann's 3 week board & train program! We cannot express how grateful we are for how much hard work Mariann put in to help him grow in confidence. It's been completely life-changing for both him and us as owners.

Before the training, Scoot was very afraid of being outside and would bolt toward home at any moment. He was unable to calm himself down and would just pull and pull and pull until we eventually went inside. Even inside, he was unable to relax and barely slept during the day. At night, he'd bark in his crate if something scared him, sometimes for hours.

After training, it's like living with a different puppy. We finally get to see him be his happy, wiggly self without so much fear and anxiety. He still gets a little spooked outside sometimes, but now he knows how to calm himself down and we have the tools to help him. He's way more relaxed (even lazy) inside and we're all FINALLY getting enough sleep. We were even able to take him with us on two separate flights over the holidays, something we couldn't imagine doing before we found WAOK9!

Through it all, Mariann was such a wonderful resource of information, validation, and encouragement. It was hard being away from Scoot, but her updates were always the highlights of our days. It was incredible to see not only his progress, but the care and expertise from Mariann too. There were so many lightbulb moments where his behavior made sense, thanks to her explanations. And now, going forward, we feel so much more confident in taking on any hurdles that might come our way.

It's only been two months since Scoot came home and already I can confidently say that Mariann's training has been the best investment we've ever made. We feel so lucky to have her on our team. If you're looking for a trainer to help with an anxious, scared dog, she is the best. She has completely transformed our bond with Scoot for the better and we cannot thank her enough.

Our Aussiedoodle pup, Flurry, was trained under Mariann for the 3-week board & train program. Flurry was just under a year old and as a new dog owner, I really wanted to set him up for success and make sure he had the foundational skills to live his best life! When we first adopted Flurry, we made sure to work on his basic obedience skills and crate training but there were still a lot of areas that he could use help on. That’s when I found Mariann and WAOK9!

Mariann was so great to work with and from the first introduction call to the first meet up, I felt confident that Flurry would be able to learn a lot through Mariann’s training. With Flurry being a young puppy, I knew he was excitable and loved people but what I didn’t realize was just how much of his reactivity was actually anxiety (like excessive pulling and inability to relax/listen in distracting environments). After working with Mariann, Flurry has unlocked the skills to use his “off” switch, trust & listen to his humans, and just overall uncover the side of Flurry that simply wants to chill and enjoy our company. From pulling like crazy, not knowing how to relax and difficulty with skills like recall, Flurry now walks like a dream and understands what we ask of him. I’m so grateful for this line of communication that was opened between Flurry & us, all thanks to Mariann’s training!

I was nervous about being away from Flurry for so long for the first time but Mariann provides lots of updates, whether through daily Instagram stories or by texting directly. It was so great being able to watch his daily progress alongside some of the other dogs Mariann was training and I knew he was well taken care of! The obedience training was a life changing experience. My puppy was calmer, well behaved, and house broke after going through it. Our relationship is so much better now that my puppy and I know what we are supposed to do. She has her space and feels safe, and I don't have to worry about her getting into trouble if I'm not right on top of her.

I was having trouble dealing with my escape artist Shiba Inu, Cody (3 yrs old), who took every chance he could to run out the door or dig under my fence. Then he would run down the block and go crazy, absolutely impossible to catch! Terrible recall and general stubbornness

So I reached out to Mariann and did a 3-week board and train and WOW what a world of a difference! I went from thinking I could never let go of this dogs leash to being able to walk him around my neighborhood with no leash at all! He listens to everything I say and follows me when necessary. Near perfect recall and heel. Completely calm in the car traveling to and from places. I cannot thank Mariann enough for all the wonderful work she did with him!!

Beatrice went to Mariann to learn how to be a good big sister in November and came back a happy, confident, and content pup! Bea was struggling with a lot of anxiety that came out in frantically running around the house looking for anything to get into. She was reactive, even though friendly, to any dog, human, or squirrel we passed on our walk. She was pulling continuously. After spending time with Mariann she came home a confident, content, and relaxed dog. She loves to have her moments of play, followed by relaxing on her own place. She can walk past any dog or situation and be fully focused on me. She doesn’t pull at all, and enjoys her free time all the more. Mariann helped my dog to learn to make good choices, and built upon her puppy training. Bea now chooses to relax and enjoy life! With the addition of a baby this spring, I know that Bea has the tools she needs to be a great big sister!

Hands down the best decision I made for me and my pup was starting puppy training classes with Mariann. She was such a wonderful help to me and my German Shepherd dog. With her help and guidance I was able to build a solid, loving, healthy relationship with my beautiful girl. When I first got my puppy, she was very stubborn, didn’t listen to anyone, had a very short attention span, very reactive to other dogs/people (she even barked aggressively at her own reflection). After my first training with Mariann, she was a completely different dog. I was super impressed with just two hours of training. Mariann was a heaven sent, she thoroughly explained each action/tip in a way that made me feel confident with my own training abilities. I was very skeptical of how much I could do once she wasn’t present during Kali’s training sessions, but her guidance was so on point, I was able to follow each step and accomplish managing my dog with ease.
